Manno Clothing Helps Local Community with Covid-19

In wake of the recent executive order by the State of Michigan, Manno Clothing & Tailoring has been directed to temporarily close its doors until further notice. Although the storefront is closed, owners Pat and Anthony have decided to keep the tailoring shop open as much as possible to construct protective masks. This comes in response to the great need for protective masks for our medical professionals and high-risk individuals.

Essentially, the luxury menswear store has been retrofitted to an assembly line of protective masks. Following the guidelines from ProMedica hospital in Toledo, the tailoring staff has followed designs to produce hundreds of “standard face masks.” Although N95 facemasks are in great need, multiple hospitals and other non-profits have expressed that they will accept our standard masks. The masks may be given to those in waiting rooms or used as a last resort by medical staff. They are made from 100% cotton fabric, double layered, and fitted with elastic ties. Elastic is becoming scarcer by the day so fabric ties may be the next step if shipments don’t arrive soon.

Constructing facemasks have allowed us to employ members of our staff during the shutdown. It provides us with purpose and brings us hope as we work to counteract the spread of this terrible virus.

All masks produced will be donated on behalf of Manno Clothing.
